maybe, tomorrow.its been a good few days, getting away from singapore, from my cluttered work-in-progress of a home and yes, a dysfuntional parent/child who has been single-handedly driving me nuts.
i had 12 hour sleep marathons, lazed around alot, fetched the kids from school, watched movies (caught
angels and demons which was satisfying fictional fun, and a vintage leonardo dicaprio with a six pac in
the beach, which was pretty cool, signature danny boyle stuff) and oh, naturally ate like there's no tomorrow.
so i've been thinking.
i am a freakin teenager.
yes that's right.
a teenager.hormones aside, there is this fixation with fads.
its like i gotta be obsessed about something all the time, one after another.
i cant function in life without one.
those who know me well are probably scoffing at how long it took me to come to such a conclusion.
hmmm, i think i just heard a certain miss v and miss m's combined smirking in the back of my head.
.
.
.
so there was the travel the world craze.
there was the learning korean craze.
there was the it bag craze.
there was the adopt a dog craze, the ebay craze and now there's the home remodelling craze.
altho in my defence, some are not just mere fads. like adopting a puppy. travelling the world or redoing my home. some fads lasts longer than the others, some dont ever go away and accumulate into a whole big ball of things i need to achieve or procure if not ill never be happy again!
like adopting moo moo the frenchie.
of cos its not just about tangible things, it can be an assessment of my state of being and the need to self-enrich, pronto!
so there's the yoga obsession which i am about to embark on (yoga in the park with bruce! cant wait for that)
the borders obsession where i just wanna buy everything from the entire gabriel garcia marquez collection, snuff by the sicko genius that is chuck palanuik to the chomsky-foucault debate on human nature.
((which leads to my lifelong obsession with anything that is an intellectual exposition on human nature. but thats another post for another day))
as usual, blogging is one of my main modes of self reflesivity so im assessing all the many wants that plague my life. and damn, dont we all want so many things in life!
some strong desires become characteristics, they grow to define us.
a passion for dogs makes one a dog lover, responsible owner etc.
a love for travelling makes one an adventurer, a globe-trotter who gets antsy when parked too long in one place
or it could just be someone who basically hates singapore.
these wants can be so monetarily draining, naturally.
who said money isnt king when we all know that one cant exactly live life to the fullest fullest without the help of the dollar.
if you know what i mean.
plane tickets need money. fine dining and fancy places need money. a great book has to be bought with money. a trip to ikea needs money.
((oh its a rich man's world!))
when it comes to travelling, buying books or taking classes to better ourselves spiritually and physically, shopping, eating great food, going places with friends etc,
the philosophy is we can go budget, but we cannot go broke. im just rambling cos i have so much free time on my hands but really, i am loving being on holiday. i just need alot of moolah in my bank account to make me happier than happy.
like seriously, ALOT of moolah.

tick tock tick tock.
i have already started the countdown a couple of posts back.
still, i am pretty psyched bout my academic career drawing to a melancholic close.
will miss the freedom and devil may care lifestyle
will miss the cosy oasis of a hostel room which ky and i call our lil private idaho
i do not even wanna think about the new responsibilties coming in tangible enveloped forms assaulting my feeble anorexic bank account.
but i still want to survive this final weekend.
